Youth Pastor Wanted

About OCCC:
Ore Creek Community Church is a 10 year old church plant with a strong emphasis on rich relationships. We are a small group focused church that values people and seeks to build into their lives to the glory of God.

Mission:
The mission of Ore Creek Community church is to lead lost people into new life in Christ and lovingly develop them into fully devoted followers of Christ.

Strategy:
Our strategy is to create enticing and disruptive environments that encourage and equip people to connect, grow, unite, and serve both God and others.

We Value:
Grace, The Bible, Prayer, Relationship, Outreach, People, Authenticity, Maturity, Stewardship, and Worship

Staff:
Our lead pastor, Dave Classen, is the founding pastor of Ore Creek and has served here for 10 years. He was small groups pastor at our founding church for 10 years prior to the launch of Ore Creek. Dave is gifted as a discipler, counselor, and mentor.

Our current youth pastor, Nick Dimmick, is assuming a new role as our navigation pastor. He has served our youth for 8 years and is looking forward to the new adventure of helping to lead us to the next step. Nick is gifted in the areas of teaching, leadership, and administration.

Where we meet:
Our Sunday service takes place at a local school. Our middle school students meet on Sunday mornings at the school and Sunday nights at the home of the youth pastor. Our high schoolers meet on Wednesday nights in the home of a family who has allowed us to transform their basement into a youth room. Our adult small groups also meet in homes (but none as cool as the house where the youth meet).

About The Job:
We are looking for a full-time pastor to focus on students grades 6 through 12. Currently this includes approximately 35 regularly participating students. Our ministry is divided into middle and high school groups. Our current strategy follows the “Seven Checkpoints” model as outlined in Andy Stanley’s book by the same name. Our programing includes a mixture of large and small group environments augmented by special events throughout the year. We place a heavy emphasis on service, with our summer mission/work trips being extremely important.

Salary:
Salary and benefits are determined according to education and experience and are based on the local teacher pay scale.

The ideal candidate should be...
A passionate follower of Jesus. We want someone who is willing to surrender all for his King and kingdom.

A courageous lover of people. We believe that rich relationships are a primary tool that God uses to shape us into the people he designed us to be. You must be willing to courageously and vulnerably offer yourself to others, inviting them to know and love you deeply. You must dive deeply into the lives of others, courageously enticing and disrupting them as you seek to lead them into a closer walk with Jesus.

A builder of relationships. You should posses strong relational skills and be passionate about building strong relationships with students and leaders. You must be an initiator of relationships and be willing to put the time and effort into making key relationships strong.

A capable leader. You should be able to contagiously cast the vision that God has given you for ministry. You must be able to motivate, train, and support a team of people to effectively minister to the students in and outside of our church. While we have enjoyed a strong and successful youth ministry for years, we are looking for someone to take it to the next level.

A humble servant. Jesus set for us the example of washing His disciples’ feet. You must live a life of humility and service that reflects this example. Your professional and personal life should be marked by the discipline of regularly putting others ahead of yourself.

A creative and effective communicator. You should be comfortable using technology and creative teaching methods to effectively communicate with students and adults.

An authentic worship leader. Our students value music and worship as a key part of our ministry. We are looking for someone who can lead competently with guitar. Nothing fancy, just competent and authentic.

A mature disciple. You must be able to demonstrate a life consistent with the biblical standards of a mature follower of Jesus Christ. We are looking for someone who has been walking with Jesus for at least 10 years and is growing dynamically to become the person God is calling him to be.

An experienced youth leader. We are looking for someone with a degree from a Christian/Bible college and at least 2 years of experience in youth ministry.

Our Youth Ministry Team:
We currently have a committed team of 10 volunteers serving our students. This is a great group of individuals who truly love our students. They are faithful servants and ready to be challenged by a new leader.

Local Youth Ministry Network:
Our county is home to a very strong youth ministry network which we have been influential in building. Youth pastors gather twice monthly for encouragement, friendship, and planning of cooperative events. We have joined forces on Spring break trips, See You At (and after) The Pole, service projects, prayer and worship gatherings, and winter retreats. Imagine serving students in a region where you have multiple partners seeking to grow the kingdom of God.
